Yearly, Carthage College invites the community to celebrate the joy of the holiday season at the annual Carthage Christmas Festival, three performances of readings and music in the A. F. Siebert Chapel. These annual concerts are the College's Christmas gift to the community. Tickets to the Christmas Festival have been free since the festival began more than 20 years ago.

Forty-five incoming first-year College of Human Sciences students participated in Orientation at Iowa State University in Ames, June 27-28. As part of the program, students and their families met peers, signed up for classes, became familiar with the campus, and learned tips for making the most of their college careers.

The Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity Conference, held March 30, is a premier annual event at The University of Alabama that provides students with the opportunity to highlight their research or creative activity. In addition to bringing attention to the outstanding work being done by UA's undergraduates, the conference allows students to gain experience presenting, become eligible for cash prizes, and form relationships with faculty mentors and fellow conference presenters. William Woods University students recently won second place in three categories at the regional Collegiate DECA competition. They also placed third in two categories and fifth in another. Collegiate DECA membership is a resource for future professionals who benefit from marketing, management and entrepreneurial skills and knowledge.
William Woods University Panhellenic and Interfraternity council students attended a four-day Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values (AFLV) conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, during the spring semester. The conference was packed with a variety of speakers on topics that covered areas such as leadership, community building, recruitment and diversity.
